INTRODUCING PROJECT UPLEVEL
itGenius’s mission is to help small businesses play a bigger game. Through working with thousands of businesses, we understand the needs of entrepreneurs looking to grow and scale their business and unlock their potential through cloud-based tools. We want to expand our support of those that can benefit through technology, particularly communities where the heart of our business beats strongest, through our people in the Philippines and Australia.
Through Project Uplevel, we want to support aspiring entrepreneurs, students and communities have equitable access to technology, unlocking education, opportunity and connection. We’re going to do this by giving unwanted computers a second life using Google ChromeOS Flex, gifting them to communities that can make the most of browser-based tools, backed by the itGenius Cloud Concierge for ongoing education and support.
Together with local partners, itGenius can use our internal capability to benefit marginalised communities whilst also minimising harmful e-waste, a growing problem in our technology dependent society.
PROJECT UPLEVEL – Philippines
WHO IS THIS FOR?
In partnership with local organisations across the Philippines, Project Uplevel will give entrepreneurs, students and organisations the tools at their fingertips to access education, new opportunities and connections previously unavailable to them and beyond the constraints of a mobile phone.
WHEN & WHERE ?
Throughout 2023, the Project Uplevel team will be facilitating two pilot programs, reaching communities in Cebu and Davao. Through these pilots, we hope to refine our learnings and program model and look forward to sharing the results of these pilots with you. By the end of 2023, we hope to secure more partners to allow us to build out a national program that we hope to launch at the end of this year, with a view to rolling out in early 2024. ACHIEVEMENTS
Project Uplevel – Australia
In 2022, Project Uplevel reached four communities in Northern NSW who were looking to uplevel after the floods. itGenius provided free laptop computers, IT support and ongoing education to Resilient Lismore, Woodburn Community Centre, Wardell Community Centre and Broadwater Community Centre. As a result of the program, community centres have been able to support local flood-affected residents with access to online services to rebuild after the floods.
